Why learn Animal Reiki?
by Rose O’Connor This past June I was blessed to share Animal Reiki 1 and 2 with five more wonderful students out of Honeybrook Farm amongst the horses. This work continues to develop, both in the student and in myself. We’ve reached out to the Animal Kingdom and they have responded, showing us that they are the best teachers of this work. My personal favorite part of the class was when the students paired off and shared remote Reiki with each other’s animals. The responses were laced with intuition, deep insight and shared loving experience with one another. One month later, the group rejoined to share how their Animal Reiki practice was evolving. The most astounding part of this work is that it teaches itself, through the animals. We open our hearts and we receive - peace, deeper connection with all that is, and incredible experiences. From one student’s sharing of how her practice with horses is evolving naturally and beautifully, to another whose connection with all of nature has opened up in new ways, another who found a new sense of peace and calmness with her horse, to yet another for whom Animal Reiki took her animal from being close to death to moving along the road to recovery. Such riches, shared with smiling faces, left my heart feeling so joyful for this work. Teaching Animal Reiki has become my own personal way of spreading stewardship for the Earth, by working with others to enrich, enhance, and hopefully enlighten their innate connection with the Animals, the Tree of Life, and all of Earth. If you have any pull to evolve your connection with Reiki in new directions, I hope you will find an Animal Reiki course near you or just reach out to me with any questions. Animal Blessings, Rose

Today, July 8th, is my mother Margie's birthday. She would be 97 today were she still in a body. Her love of nature and her love of words are both things that I share with her, so today I honor her day with this poem written in my head while on the lake in my kayak.
FLOATING She has washed me clean this morning, washed my energy and made it new. She, the lady of the lake, has shared her delights with me this early morning She shared the shimmer on the trees, Grandmother Moon setting in the Western sky, the summer grasses holding droplets of dew A fairy glen tucked in by one corner of the lake, its mists revealing a beaver, jumping off a log to disappear under the water fish showing themselves gaily as they splash and play birds singing singing singing their morning prayers of joy taking me away on a shamanic journey as I float drumming the side of my kayak with my hand returning to see a blue heron sharing space with me at eye level rushes tall enough to make a giant Brigids cross dragonflies everywhere winking on the water joyous heart opening beautiful mother Danu All of nature within me and I within it Every day to begin this way washed by nature's bounty Rose O'Connor Love you Mother Happy day of your birth |

After several decades on this dear Earth of ours, I can no longer deny that one of the ways I can best communicate is through the written word. So my pledge here to you and to myself is to sing my song of words as they come through me in the hopes of creating a vision for us all. Happy trails.Archives
