Having recently finished facilitating my first Animal Reiki Master class with these beautiful women and wonderful horses, the thing I came to know of late is that I've only just begun.
Our group, along with Mother Nature and a farm full of beautiful horses, connected, through Reiki's loving light, to a profound state of peace. Our "classroom" was a second floor yoga room above a four stall barn with a big open door that looked out over the pastures beyond and gave one of the horses direct access to us. We sat with chairs in a semi circle facing the open barn door and during our first morning meditation the horse walked up and quite comfortably completed our circle. As we moved deeply into our experiences and attunements, I felt that exquisite sense of nothing else to do or be. Everything already existed in that pure presence, that pure peace that came from within and moved all around me. And then I realized that the animal kingdom, along with the trees and all of the natural world, do this all the time. They don't need a meditation or a reminder of how to be in connection with everything else. They don't need to be told that they are nature too and that everything around them is not separate from them, but part of them. They already know the things we work so hard to find. The three blissful days went by and the world stepped in once more with all of its distractions. But when I look in the horse's eye, hear a morning birdsong, or feel the sun upon my back, I can no longer forget. The best I can do is notice and connect, honoring Mother Nature as she does me.

After several decades on this dear Earth of ours, I can no longer deny that one of the ways I can best communicate is through the written word. So my pledge here to you and to myself is to sing my song of words as they come through me in the hopes of creating a vision for us all. Happy trails.Archives
