What seeds are you planting?

Dear Everyone,
So often in the rush of life, we can become disconnected, forgetting that we are part of something much greater than ourselves. Life gets complicated and we forget to ground, to come back to center, to connect with Nature, to connect with ourselves. We need tools, and the practice of Reiki gives us those tools. Tools that include the ability to send healing intentions with Reiki. To know, to see, to experience this powerful gift is incredible.

Whatever we send out to the Universal Source of all Oneness is always heard and held. Reiki shows us this in so many ways, and it is in the practice that our belief is strengthened, that our intentions are made manifest.

Every day, at the start or equally at the end of the day, is the perfect time to plant the seeds of our healing intentions - whether for self, for loved ones, or for the Earth herself. What we can create takes just a few minutes of our earthly time but ripples out into the Universe in ever widening circles, expanding beyond space and time.

Some practitioners use a crystal or a crystal Reiki grid for this that holds the intentions.  You can also physically write out your intentions and place them next to your bed. At night, as you prepare to "be with" those intentions in a Reiki space, imbuing those intentions with Reiki's love, imagine those healing  intentions like little balls of  pure light being "caught" by the numerous beings of Light who are all around us. Caught, held, and magnified.

Find your own way to seed your own intentions and make it a fun and enriching practice in your life if you haven't already. The Universal Source of all Oneness is there to help us grow those seeds into being.

You count, you are heard and you are always held, always supported. You matter. You  make a difference.

Pause Breathe Resume

Dear Everyone,
2022 has been filled with many changes for most of us spinning around on this planet. The year had its challenges and its gifts, as most years do. Some of us lost loved ones and, along with the sorrow and pain, comes the knowing that every breath counts. Every breath we take is one we are alive to.

It's helpful if we can remind ourselves every day, sometimes every hour, that we get to DO this - we get to be in a body, a body that houses our Spirit. One of the most amazing things I learned in Massage school was that the breath is both voluntary and involuntary. We can activate our breath on our own, maybe while doing yoga or breath work, but our breath also "breathes" itself, involuntarily, whether we want it to or not. Over and over again, throughout our lives, the breath keeps us alive.

I'm sitting next to a cat right now who purrs and contemplates his existence. How often do we do that? Even a moment or two to contemplate the miracle of our breath, or a tree, or a cat, has the ability to take us into a state of grace, a state of stillness.

Reiki helps. Reiki helps us to move into stillness, into that present moment awareness where everything is already alright. I practice voluntary breathing with Reiki to help bring that awareness through every cell, to bring myself more fully into the perfect present moment.

The present moment is the place where we can experience true gratitude, the fact that we get to do this, to create, to explore, to live in these human bodies.

Just for today do not worry, do not anger, be Grateful for your body, be kind to yourself, work hard at spiritual practice. (adapted from the Reiki Ideals)

And (tongue in cheek) I'll add my own: Just for today, put down your phone and take a few moments to contemplate, to BE.

You're special. You count.
With love, Rose

What the Animals are teaching me

Having recently finished facilitating my first Animal Reiki Master class with these beautiful women and wonderful horses, the thing I came to know of late is that I've only just begun.

Our group, along with Mother Nature and a farm full of beautiful horses, connected, through Reiki's loving light, to a profound state of peace.

Our "classroom" was a second floor yoga room above a four stall barn with a big open door that looked out over the pastures beyond and gave one of the horses direct access to us. We sat with chairs in a semi circle facing the open barn door and during our first morning meditation the horse walked up and quite comfortably completed our circle.

As we moved deeply into our experiences and attunements, I felt that exquisite sense of nothing else to do or be. Everything already existed in that pure presence, that pure peace that came from within and moved all around me.

And then I realized that the animal kingdom, along with the trees and all of the natural world, do this all the time. They don't need a meditation or a reminder of how to be in connection with everything else. They don't need to be told that they are nature too and that everything around them is not separate from them, but part of them. They already know the things we work so hard to find.

The three blissful days went by and the world stepped in once more with all of its distractions. But when I look in the horse's eye, hear a morning birdsong, or feel the sun upon my back, I can no longer forget. The best I can do is notice and connect, honoring Mother Nature as she does me.

Reiki is my friend

Sometimes we forget to tell our friends how we care about them, not because we don't, but just because....we think life goes on forever and there is always more time to say what we need to say. A lesson that is moving through my life is that we need to say the words of love, every day. It counts.

Today I'd like to share how Reiki has been my very best friend since 2008. Reiki is the kind of friend who is always there for me, giving me unconditional love in any moment of my day. It never refuses to listen to me or tell me it doesn't have time for me. Its energy is always complete 100% love and it is my access to the Divine, anytime.

How many friends can you say that about? Everyone and everything in the world has Reiki flowing through it. The Universe is made of its pure energy.

I'd love for you to share here in the comments how Reiki has been a friend to you! With love and Reiki always, will visit here more often, Rose

She knew the time had come for things to change. Others were just waiting - waiting for this ‘crazy time’ to be over and for things to get back to “normal.”
This, she knew, was never going to happen. She knew there would be a new normal and that new normal would be much different than before. She thought now about the simplicity of living in the cottage in Ireland.
When she first arrived and walked in, it felt immediately right. A small and simple living room with a wood stove for heat, deep window sills and a table for crafting or writing. A kitchen with a tiny gas stove and fitted with the very basics for making and eating meals. A mini refrigerator to hold a weeks’ worth of food. Upstairs two bedrooms with skylights, each furnished simply with a bed, dresser and table with lamp. Blankets for warmth and one pillow each. The bathroom held a tub with a hand held shower - the hot water came on demand twice a day for one hour and supplied enough to get clean but not enough to be too indulgent with soaking. Perfect really in every way. The simplicity of it felt refreshing to her, it felt like she knew how to live this life.
Outside the little cottage lay the inlet to the sea, hills and woods for walking and a deep sense of peace that now rested in her heart remembering. Chickens for fresh eggs and a garden with kale even in winter. What was there to do there - the chores of living, bringing in wood, feeding the animals, making a fire, doing repair projects or cleaning, writing or creating, taking long walks to breathe in the sea, making meals, and waiting for night to fall and stars to light up the sky.
She knew this was the life she wished to live again, a life she'd no doubt lived before, only this time she would leave her Western ways behind more fully and dwell in the now. This ‘crazy time’ had made her recognize that everything in life that mattered was there in the nature of that simple life. She would create it again.
Yet she also knew that creation itself was changing. That to create meant to go into the void and to see it there, bring it to you, not try to create it from matter as she had been doing much of her life. The do-ing was going to become be-ing, at least for her and some of the others around her. As for the rest she did not know what would happen to them. For if one resists the change, it is always more difficult to move forward.
And moving forward in the 3D world, trying to “make” things happen, doing doing doing just wasn’t going to work anymore. The energy for that time was shifting, was ending, she felt that. Creating was going to come from someplace else, a place where you didn’t have to work for it or fight for it or compete for it, you just had to BE it. The insatiable need to consume, to go and do was being questioned by the gods and found that it has no more validity anymore. She knew the time had come for things to change.

CAN YOU FEEL IT?

This is a time for listening

It’s ok to stop doing and start be-ing

Recognize the quiet moments when you stop trying to change what is

Compare yourself with no one

Practice just being you

Your rite of passage is now

Achieve only the art of paying attention

Can you hear the silence held within it

Accept the perfection of the present moment

Can you feel it

Find the flow and go with it

Remember you aren’t in charge

Huddle in close with the Earth Mother

She is your saving grace, your meditation Master, your comfort and your courage

Tend well your garden of Love

Knowing its richness is what feeds you

Love is what you are

Can you feel it

Work with your strength; it's there

Today, July 29th, is the day my Dad was born, 99 years ago.
I wonder what he would say if he were here. He was always such a tower of strength throughout his life. I’ve no doubt he would have been helping others through this time with that strength of his.
What came to me this morning was this - focus on your strengths right now, focus on what makes you feel strong, what gives you strength and makes you feel whole. As Abraham (via Esther Hicks) would say “calibrate” - calibrate to the strength that lies in your own soul and how it expresses itself through you.
For me, the things that calibrate for me right now are horses and the woods. I am making friends with a herd of ponies I found near me and I go and sit with them. They ask nothing of me except perhaps a gentle scratch on their nose and just to breathe with them for a while. Each day I see them, I sit quietly and free my mind. I go into my hara and my heart space and I wait.
After a while, a few will come, always curious and friendly, holding out their noses to say hello through the block wire fence. They are feral, or so I’m told. and so I am quite still and offer only loving energy, nothing else. Some would say that I am sharing Reiki with them, but these days I have no agenda. I simply am in the practice of being and receiving, grounding and filling, giving and letting it flow.
Also, every day I take to the woods and the natural waters of the creek that follows along beside me. Some days I see the Great Blue Heron, others the beaver family. Always the birds, squirrels, rabbits and butterflies greet me. The trees welcome my return each time and I do not take them for granted, but thank them for their strength, their steadiness in a time when much of the world is shaky.
Find something to calibrate with that makes you feel strong. Work with the strength within you, it’s there. Find the thing that brings you to that place inside you where everything is right side up, where everything is resonant. It's there.
My Dad was a man who could always find the strength that lay within him. When he was a sickly child in bed with rheumatic fever, when he was a soldier in WWII and his courage saved a troop of men in the Black Forest. When he raised a family with love through good and bad times, when he cared for a mentally ill daughter his whole life, when he lost a wife, and then a best friend, when his lungs gave up on him. And in the end it was his strength I felt the most the moment of his death. Even in his last hours here in his physical form, he was as strong and loving as I’d always known him to be.
Work with your strength, it’s there.

My Birthday Prayer
Today I felt moved to tell you something. On this day, July 18, I was given the gift of life in this body just as all of you were given also. With it came the chance to experience all that life offers and a body to do it with. A body that pumps blood on its own, a heart that beats on its own, breath that moves in and out even if I don't remember, eyes that see, ears that hear - all of this intelligent magnificence that houses a space for my soul. And on this day, I ask that you remember this - right now, if you are reading this, ,you have life coursing through your own body. I ask that you enjoy it, appreciate it, love everything with that beautiful heart of yours, and remember your own divinity and power and grace. Remember that everything you really need, you don't have to go looking for, because it's already inside of you. I am grateful, so grateful today for you and for me and for the all of it all. Blessings and hugs. Rose

LESSONS FROM OUR ANIMALS

LESSONS FROM OUR ANIMALS
During this time of quiet and seclusion with our families and ourselves, we can look to our animals for inspiration.
As a client of mine said, when writing to me yesterday about her dog’s upcoming remote Reiki session, “My dogs don’t seem to know what’s happening in the world. They are just the same-peaceful and loving.”
I do believe that they aren’t aware of the panic and fear that exists in many right now, unless it exists in someone in their home who they care about. But I believe the reason they don't seem to be aware is because they already exist in a different reality than the one we are in—one that is made of Love.
It is indeed just another lesson on this beautiful  and also painful journey we are all on right now. And yes I call it beautiful because it is indeed a pathway that can lead us to greater love, should we choose it. The animals would like us to join them where they are - in the present moment that lives inside each of us. Even in moments of chaos in our outer world, our inner world is capable of holding sweet peace, of holding great love.
Animals know the way of the peaceful warrior—they have the natural ability to embody peace within. We can tap into that whether we live with an animal or not. Nature is always with us as we are nature ourselves. We are not separate from it nor is it separate from us.
Take a walk today, metaphorically, to the place of peace inside you. What goes on in the outer world does not have to disturb our innermost sense of peace and love. Open your heart and feel the love that is always there waiting. Invite an animal, or a tree for that matter, to join you there and help you transcend to that inner quiet, to that place of unconditional Love. My wish for you is to be well, grow during this time, appreciate the moment, and stay with Love.

LOVE IS OUR BEST DEFENSE

With all the explosion of information we are being bombarded by every single day, telling us (rightly) how to protect ourselves in these challenging days, the truth is that LOVE is still our best defense.
Defense is not a word I equate with Love certainly on most days, but an outpouring of love, genuine heartfelt Love just now is what is being asked of us. This I truly believe and hear from the Angels and guides all the time, when in the stillness of my own heart.
The heart is where Love resides and it cannot reside alongside of Fear. Fear replaces Love and therefore Love remains, I repeat, our best defense.
Perhaps it is also a good time to sit with and examine what these fears are rooted in. When we have those moments when we are being propelled forward by fears, take a moment or moments to sit with fear, hold its hand and ask it what it’s doing here. What is the purpose of fear? Is it fear of death or the death of those around us? That is a real fear, indeed. However as much as we try to shy away from it, death is an inevitable part of life.
Did you ever watch an animal when they are close to dying? Do they seem fearful? Animals are not afraid of death for they know it is only the death of the Spirit, not the death of the spark of life within them. They are never fearful of dying and nor should we be. Instead if we wish to LIVE and live fully, we could choose to instead embrace LOVE as our guide, LOVE as the emotion of choice. Using LOVE as our best defense against fear, not actually against dying because we are all headed in the same direction eventually, the death of our bodies. LOVE never dies, it is eternal just as our own Spirits are eternal.
The Angels ask that you turn to them as they are filled with LOVE and waiting to remind you of that same LOVE that resides within you. Keep HOPE alive, keep LOVE alive and see how much of it you can access within yourself today. Watch for my next meditation where we will access the LOVE of our own hearts with Reiki and our animals.
The light of LOVE in me sees and honors the light of LOVE in you. Namaste.

After several decades on this dear Earth of ours, I can no longer deny that one of the ways I can best communicate is through the written word. So my pledge here to you and to myself is to sing my song of words as they come through me in the hopes of creating a vision for us all.   Happy trails.

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
